Proofreading is the re-reading and correction of draft documentation prior to acceptance for pubblication or distribution.

 

This task is undertaken by the translator in collaboration with a professional proofreader, whose aim is to correct any imperfections in the translation and to modify its content should there be the need to either adapt the document to the culture of the target reader(s), or impart a greater sense of communicative style.
